"The hills are alive with the sound of music"

...is the song that kept going through my head as we drove through the hills of Bavaria.  Our drive from Oberstdorf to Tegernzee was speedy and the countryside was quite flat.  We looked at fields of corn and many farms and cows.  Hilla and Stephan welcomed us with a wonderful dinner in their beautiful house.  It has everything anyone could ever want in cluding a robot to cut the lawn!
Saturday morning we set off to hike again, this time along wooded trails above the lake...

We stopped for lunch at an outdoor restaurant where I had yummy roast chicken with potato salad.

We sat for a long rest and enjoyed the view of the lake, the company of old friends and recuperated for the walk back.  It was a long way.  Eventually we came upon a church with a bench to sit on.

It was just what I had been praying for--I went inside and thanked the Lord for the respite!
