...Rick loved the hazelnut and chocolate mix.
Our time in Salt Lake City was wonderful and we hated to leave Jessica and our lovely home away from home. But here we go!
Each day as we head out, the road looks beautiful, beconing us forward.
Along the way, we dicided to stop and get some chips to supplement our lunch--Rick's fabulous sandwiches. But as we headed toward Subway, in the distance we saw an interesting barbeque place....
Where we got the "Truckers Special"--ok another not too healthy lunch---pulled pork, chicken drumsticks, ribs, beans, rice, garlic bread, all for $11.95 and enough to keep both of us quite happy. The sandwiches in the cooler will keep another day....
We are having such a great time that we want to encourage you all to get out and DO IT!
Next was the "World Famous Lava Hot Springs" where Rick decided to enjoy a soak and I decided to sit it out and paint....
And who could resist the Potato Museum? We couldn't and we learned about that the Russet Burbank Potato was brought to Idaho by Luther Burbank in 1872 from New England! Yay NEW ENGLAND!
And we had heard about the famous Idaho huckleberry milkshakes (above) from Anne and Richard earlier today and with a 10 percent coupon from the Potato Museum (score!) shared one--and some Idaho french fries with special sauce--mayo, ketchup and butermilk--it's a secret recipe so you'll have to guess on the proportions--but it's the best thing for french fries ever invented! Yum. Am I gaining weight?
The landscape thtrough Idaho is arrsting in it simplicity. Sky and land, now uncultivated, I imagine being readied for the potato planting.
